Cách sử dụng
1. Diễn tả hành động đang xảy ra tại một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ
Eg: I was doing my exercises at 8 o'clock last night.
2. Diễn tả hai hành động đồng thời đang xảy ra trong quá khứ
Eg: My mother was cooking while my father was watching football on TV.
3. Dùng để miêu tả về ngữ cảnh của câu chuyên
Eg: It was raining so Jack decided to stay at home.
Lưu ý
Một hành động đang xảy ra trong quá khứ mà một hành động khác xen vào với liên từ "when" và "while
